“Windrose Care Home has been a dream facility for my mother who suffers from advanced Alzheimer’s. She is wheelchair bound & stopped walking about a year ago. The day she was admitted was extremely hard. Witnessing our mother succumb to circumstances beyond our control and into the hands of essentially strangers was frightening & heartbreaking. But Windrose took my mother in as if she was their own mother. The day she was admitted was absolutely beautiful. The home is clean, bright, airy, modern & new with sunlight pouring in from the back of the house to the front. The home has high ceilings, a beautiful (and safe) backyard area; the rooms & even bathrooms are elegant & large. They were cooking lunch and the smells from the kitchen were as if my mother was cooking her own delicious meals! Just lovely & homey & the food was healthy & delicious as my mother reported. Ana the main caregiver sat with us at the table & laughed & spoke warmly as if we had been friends & family for a lifetime. The other residents (who were so sweet & at my mom’s level) sat at the table with us like we were having a family meal together.

Since the day my mother was admitted to Windrose, I’m thankful to report it has been a miracle rest home for my mother. Meals together, laughter fills the home, where they can lounge & watch tv. They have live peaceful music every week - music my mom can sing to! Activities like painting & games that make my mom laugh. Every single staff member is amazing, kind, professional & highly skilled. My mom requires 24/7 care, and I don’t know how Windrose did it but my mother has dramatically improved since being there!

I do not live in California so I’ve been able to call the home to talk to my mom anytime I want. I’ve been able to contact Bana, the owner whenever I need (which is rare). Bana is incredibly loving, caring, available and understanding of any of my concerns & questions. She understands where I’m coming from & the enormity of how difficult it has been for me to grasp my mother’s demise. I consider Bana to be a wise old soul because she runs Windrose Care Home like a true expert - she should write a book on it!

I can’t say enough good things about Windrose other than it has allowed me to sleep at night because I know my mom is safe & happy there. In my mom’s state of mind, every time I ask her how it is at Windrose she reports how nice it is, the food is really good (my mom is very picky!), and she’s happy & well cared for. I consider Windrose the absolute jackpot in care homes, affordable considering the high costs of LTC. It has become the very best ‘final stop’ for my blessed mother.“

“My father has been at Windrose for 8 months and I feel at peace with the tough decision we had to make when the time came to move him to a care facility. Windrose is a small and well run home with friendly and compassionate caregivers. Any change in his health has been conveyed to me in a timely fashion. The residents are treated with respect and are stimulated regularly with music, games, puzzles and letting them watch their favorite television programs. I have recommended Windrose to people who are looking for a smaller care facility for their loved one. I encourage them to visit the 6 bedroom home and see for themselves.”

"The Windrose Care Home in Santa Rosa Ca has been a pure blessing for my 86 year old mother as well as myself and family. (I am the son.) The transition from my mother’s own home to Windrose was a very thorough well planned out event with the Windrose owner and staff. The transition was done with absolute perfection! My mother has been at Windrose for the past 9 months or so and the care she receives is absolutely top-notch. I feel as though some commercial care homes in Sonoma County put money in front of the true care needs that an elderly individual really needs. At Windrose the staff definitely cares about the residents! Residents play games, exercise, watch tv, and partake in many other social events. My mom now has been able to pull out of her depression that she was suffering from when she was living by herself at home. I feel lucky to have my mom as a resident at Windrose."

"My mom moved into Windrose in September 2023 and has been cared for wonderfully during her time there. Windrose is as much of a home away from home as a board and care residence can be. The caregivers are kind, compassionate, and fully attentive to the residents’ needs. Bana Solomon, the owner, is a hands-on owner, very kind hearted, knowledgeable, and you can tell she hires only the best staff.  My mom is being lovingly taken care of and every one of her needs is met. The home is extremely clean, open and bright. The meals are homemade and the residents (that are able to) sit at the table, eating all of their meals like a family.  There are other women in the home that my mom sits with all day and converses with. She is always showered, dressed, attractively, lipstick on, and nails done every week by the caregivers! These may not seem important to some people (my mom hadn’t worn make up in many years before Windrose and never had her nails done but I’ll tell you, she delights in her nails being painted each week) but i think these extra touches make a difference to the residents. I could not give a better recommendation for a home for my mom."
